I joined POINT as a volunteer after receiving invaluable professional support during my son’s EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) application process. As a parent of a child with ASD, SPD, Tourette’s, and High Anxiety, I understood firsthand the challenges families face and wanted to give something back to POINT as a thank you. My volunteer role eventually led to employment, which has allowed me to continue making a positive impact.
During my time at POINT, I’ve had the opportunity to work across various services, which have greatly enhanced my skills and knowledge. I am now excited to take on a new role within Mediation, where I’ll have the opportunity to work collaboratively and co-productively with parents, carers, and stakeholders.
Through my experiences, I’ve learned that the voice of the individual is essential in creating successful outcomes. By ensuring that every voice is heard, I believe we can co-produce services that are inclusive and truly meet the needs of all families.
